Braided Bridge uses the principles of the gift economy. Our offerings are gifts and include:
- studio time
- support and advocacy for people who are unhoused
- podcasts and explorations on the relationship between love and justice
- meditations
- support for creative projects
- sharing our work freely
- participation in our community
These gifts are freely given regardless of ability to pay.
Needs
We do also have needs, and would like to be transparent about them, so that people can discern if they are called to offer a gift to us. Here are some needs we have right now:
- Participants in Homebridge Connect
- Help with planning a justice meditation series
- Help with planning community restorative justice circle time
- Help with growing and maintaining our website
- Outreach to new participants
- People with art making experience to help us offer weekend studio time
A donation to Braided Bridge helps us to:
- Purchase blankets, sleeping bags, tents, food, and other survival supplies, and provide emergency temporary hotel stays for unhoused people in need of material support.
- Maintain our art and letterpress printing studio so creative space can be shared with others regardless of ability to pay for studio time, instruction, or equipment.
- Support restorative justice training and facilitation in our community and in environments where people are struggling with conflict and trauma.
- The production and sharing of artwork created by Braided Bridge members, exploring justice, love, and spirit.
- Offer art and writing stipends to contributors for Justice Conversation, exploring living and working through love as the foundation of justice.
