Monoprint Stencil Poster Workshop

September 15, 1-4:30 PM
Braided Bridge Studio,
730 29th St. #101, West Oakland

Hand printed poster hanging on fence reads "Public Land 4 Public Good" with dark multicolored background and cream letters from handcut stencils. Poster is hanging on chain link fence with blue painters tape.

Join us in making monoprint posters with stencils! Monoprinting is a painterly process to create unique prints. In this workshop, we will combine painting with handcut stencils to create bold messages displaying a tension between softly blended color and graphic impact. This technique can be used to create artistic imagery, activist posters, or imagery that could be combined with collage, painting, or mixed media. Each workshop participant will leave will a series of posters. All materials will be provided.

The posters in these pictures were made by Braided Bridge for the Wood St. Commons community and used at a recent press conference about ways to address homelessness that do not cause increased harm and deaths, such as sweeps do.

To register for this class, fill out the form below. A $5 registration fee is requested to reserve your spot in the workshop. A suggested donation of $45 will cover the cost per participant of paying the instructors and maintaining the space. Donations over $45 will assist in the mission of Braided Bridge, which includes supporting our unhoused neighbors and creative collaboration for justice and community.
